Magnesium (Chelated Bisglycinate)
Alcohol depletes magnesium — causing next-day muscle tension, headaches, and poor sleep. Chelated form for best absorption. Exclusive to Shield.
Why magnesium is in Shield
Alcohol acts as a diuretic — it makes you urinate more, flushing out magnesium in the process. Regular drinkers are commonly magnesium-deficient, even if their diet is otherwise adequate.
Magnesium deficiency contributes to muscle tension, headaches, poor sleep quality, and anxiety — all of which are worse the morning after drinking. Replenishing magnesium helps address these symptoms.
The dose in Shield (6mg elemental) is modest — it's designed to partially offset what alcohol depletes, not to treat severe magnesium deficiency. If your doctor has identified significant deficiency, you may need a separate higher-dose supplement.
