Why we use the active form of B6

Most B6 supplements use pyridoxine — the inactive form. Your liver has to convert pyridoxine into P-5-P (pyridoxal-5-phosphate) before your body can use it. If your liver is already under strain from fatty liver, this conversion may be less efficient.

We skip this step entirely by using P-5-P directly — the form your body actually uses. This is especially important in liver patients where conversion capacity may be compromised.

B6 supports methylation — a critical biochemical process involved in liver cell repair, DNA maintenance, and detoxification. It also helps metabolise homocysteine, which can accumulate when liver function is impaired.

Regular B6 (pyridoxine) needs to be converted by your liver into P-5-P before your body can use it. If your liver is already struggling with fatty liver, this conversion may be less efficient. P-5-P skips this step — your body can use it directly.
Can B6 cause nerve damage?+
Only at very high doses (above 200mg daily) taken for extended periods. Our dose is 5–10mg — about 20–40× below the concern threshold. At our dose, nerve toxicity is not a realistic risk.
